Mark Escobar is the senior vice president and general manager of SAIC’s National Security Customer Group. In this role, he is responsible for supporting a variety of Intelligence Community customers, the U.S. Air Force, the Combatant Commands and numerous DoD offices and agencies such as the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Escobar joined SAIC in 1999 and most recently served as general manager of the Department of Defense Agencies and Commands Customer Group, where he managed customer relationships with the Combatant Commands and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, among other organizations.

Prior to that, he was the senior program manager and SAIC operation manager for the Army National Guard/Army Reserve Agency IT services contract, which provided an integrated information system in support of guardsman and reservist mobilization.

For SAIC, Escobar also held positions as a program manager, division manager, and chief engineer for a variety of contracts supporting Unified NASA IT Services, the Army Directorate of Information Management, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the National Science Foundation.

Before joining SAIC, Escobar worked for Boeing Information Services, which was later acquired by SAIC, and held positions as a chief technologist, engineering department manager, and outsourcing chief engineer for several NASA programs.

Earlier in his career, Escobar was a civilian employee within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he managed technical support and network operations for the Defense Manpower Data Center and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Escobar served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 through 1991 in support of the 7th Communications Group at the Pentagon. Escobar also served in the United States Peace Corps in Suva, Fiji, where he taught computer science and statistics at the Fiji Institute of Technology.

Escobar holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and industrial engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science degree in technology management from George Mason University.
