We operate the laboratories at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick (NCI-Frederick) under the largest contract awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
About the Company
SAIC-Frederick operates the National Cancer Institute's Federally Funded Research and Development Center, a national laboratory dedicated to cancer and AIDS research. This is the only national lab within the Department of Health and Human Services.
The company also manages public-private partnerships for the government and makes R&D technologies available on a limited, fee-for-service basis to other government agencies through the Economy Act and to academic institutions and corporate entities through a Work for Others program.
SAIC-Frederick's staff of scientific, technical, and support professionals conducts basic and applied research in cancer and AIDS, operate and manage the federal government's only vaccine manufacturing facilities (VPP, BDP), runs the high-performance Advanced Biomedical Computing Center, and supports clinical trials treating patients in the U.S. and around the world.
