About the Company

MEDPROTECT LLC (MEDPROTECT), a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC (www.saic.com), was established to prevent, detect, and investigate health care-related fraud, waste and abuse, and to provide other specialized support to health care payers in the oversight of their programs and benefits. MEDPROTECT allows for the performance of program integrity-related and other work in an organization separate from the parent SAIC organization, thus minimizing any potential organizational conflicts of interest with work in the parent company.

MEDPROTECT has performed as the Medicare Drug Integrity Contractor (MEDIC) West Region for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The MEDIC program focuses on potential fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare Prescription Drug Program, also referred to as Medicare Part D.

In addition to the company's experience under the MEDIC contract, MEDPROTECT's staff members have years of experience working with a wide variety of Medicare programs, as well as Medicaid programs in various states, in the areas of utilization review, audit, complex data analysis, medical review and appeals, claims processing, and benefit integrity programs.
