Growth of the Company: FY 1971
New business development and sales increased by almost a factor of five in the company’s second year of existence. During this period, the company discovered a new growth formula: establish an office near a customer and attract the best-qualified people to meet the specific needs of that customer.
Fiscal Year 1971
Using this new growth formula, SAI established four new principal offices in Fiscal Year 1971.
One of the most important events in Fiscal Year 1971 was the development of a new business base with the Space and Missile Systems Organization (SAMSO). This business base created the core of the Systems Group.
JRB Associates was incorporated in Virginia to work primarily in the health marketplace
The Technology Systems Group was established in the Washington, D.C., area to perform studies for DNA of dust cloud information from nuclear weapons
Product development was launched at SAI with the marketing of the ATP Photometer — an instrument to accurately measure low concentrations of living organisms in water samples with both high speed and high precision
