Growth of the Company: FY 1977
Fiscal Year 1977 saw major breakthroughs for SAI in the energy and environmental areas. In the energy area, SAI began working with government and industry to develop new technologies to improve resource recovery, to convert fuels to more usable forms, to utilize fuels more efficiently and cleanly, and to control and monitor the effects of fuel usage on the environment.
Fiscal Year 1977
SAI provided technical support to DoEs Laramie, Morgantown, Pittsburgh, Bartlesville, and Grand Forks Energy Technology Centers.
In addition, SAI initiated work in renewable energy resources: solar, ocean thermal, wind, and refuse. These efforts firmly established SAI in one of the most important new energy research areas of the decade.
- SAI performed environmental research and development and environmental assessment, planning, and control services to Federal agencies, private industries, and state and local governments; these efforts covered both air and water quality research and development that involved sampling and impact assessment, including cost and economic impact
