Fiscal Year 1991

SAIC’s many technical accomplishments translated into an impressive rate of growth. In Fiscal Year 1991, SAIC’s annual revenues exceeded $1.1 billion, equating to a compound growth rate of almost 24% per year for more than 20 years.

  • In Fiscal Year 1991, the environment and energy business grew by 24%; the health system business expanded by 45%

  • SAIC had 25 reservists called for service in Desert Storm; SAIC also had another 25 employees working in Saudi Arabia who chose to stay within the theater during the hostilities

  • SAIC’s work for the Army’s National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin, California, proved critical to the success of Operation Desert Storm

  • SAIC’s largest ongoing program, the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), was expanded to provide a patient care medical information system for all U.S. military service hospitals and clinics worldwide

  • Fiscal Year 1991 was a landmark year for the company’s environmental business — SAIC won more than $300 million of new work for EPA, DoE and DoD
