Growth of the Company: FY 1993

Over the years, SAIC made major contributions to issues of vital national interest while developing a unique and successful enterprise that employed nearly 15,000 people.

Fiscal Year 1993

By Fiscal Year 1993, global and domestic economic and security trends had changed SAIC’s traditional markets. U.S. national priorities were being restructured, reducing opportunities in some traditional SAIC business areas, yet offering significant new opportunities in others. Growth markets included defense technology conversion, health care reform, transportation, communications and information technologies, and business process engineering. In addition, SAIC looked forward to participating in a new and more cooperative relationship between government and private industry.

  • From Fiscal Year 1987 to Fiscal Year 1993, SAIC helped the EPA evaluate and demonstrate more than 40 new bio-remediation technologies under the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation program
