SAIC celebrated its 30th Anniversary in February 1999 by announcing a 30th consecutive year of record revenue and earnings growth. Revenues surpassed fiscal 1998 by 53% and net earnings increased 78% over the previous year.

This growth was achieved through a combination of major contract wins from the federal government, a full year of sales and continued revenue growth from Telcordia Technologies, Inc. and the expansion of services by Network Solutions, Inc., the domain name registrar for the Internet.
As a result of the company's growth in fiscal 1999, SAIC now ranks #347 on the FORTUNE 500® list of the largest U.S. companies and remains the largest employee-owned research and engineering firm in the United States.
SAIC's Telcordia Technologies subsidiary remains at the forefront of the evolution of communications technology, signing an agreement with Sprint to develop the core software for a visionary new direction in networking that enables the integration of telephone calls and data service over Sprint's Integrated On-Demand Network.
More than ever before, SAIC's increasing size allows the company to win major contract awards or serve as the prime contractor on large contracts.
SAIC won an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) Applications 'n Support for Widely-diverse EndUser Requirements (ANSWER) contract. With a potential ceiling value of $25 billion, this contract allows federal agencies worldwide to purchase SAIC information technology (IT) support services.
SAIC is providing desktop computing services to the General Services Administration (GSA) and other federal agencies under the Seat Management ID/IQ contract. This contract has a total ceiling value of $9 billion.
SAIC will continue to provide advanced health care information services to the U.S. Military Health Services (MHS) system under a major new contact valued at $1.3 billion.
A team led by SAIC was awarded a contract from the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) under the Omnibus Geospatial Information and Imagery Intelligence Solicitation program. With a potential total ceiling value of approximately $500 million, the SAIC team is providing services that include mapping and charting, photogrammetry, surveying, imagery intelligence, gravity and magnetic surveying, and hydrographic/bathymetric surveying.
A team led by SAIC was awarded the Systems Management and Integration services contract under the Immigration and Naturalization Service's (INS) Service Technology Alliance Resources (STARS) program. Under this $400 million contract, the team is providing INS with management and systems integration for several contractors who will develop, implement, operate and maintain all INS technology systems across 90 U.S. and international offices connecting over 29,000 employees worldwide.
A team led by SAIC was awarded a recompete of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Mission Oriented Systems Engineering Support (MOSES) contract. Under this $263 million contract, the SAIC team is providing the EPA with system engineering support for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mission-critical agency applications.
- A team led by SAIC was awarded two IT outsourcing contracts under the Information Technology Services (ITS) outsourcing initiative for the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) Oak Ridge, Tenn., facilities. The estimated value of the combined contracts is $72 million.
