SAIC continued to win significant work with new and long-term clients across the U.S. federal government. Highlights of our FY 2008 contract wins include contracts to:
Provide the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement with comprehensive enterprise information technology (IT) support services to manage its IT infrastructure and field operations support at over 550 sites with more than 19,000 end-users worldwide.
Upgrade air traffic control radio systems for the U.S. Air Force.
Provide environmental and safety support services to facility-wide operations at NASA's Glenn Research Center.
Manage the supply chain of chemicals and packaged petroleum, oils and lubricants for the Department of Defense.
Deliver research and development services to support process development and pilot lot production of promising malaria vaccine candidates into products suitable for evaluation in human clinical studies through a contract extension with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases' (NIAID) Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID), part of the National Institutes of Health.

Provide global network managed services through a follow-on contract to INEOS, a manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products.
SAIC acquired two companies in FY 2008. Scicom Technologies Private Limited is an India-based provider of onsite and offshore IT solutions and technology consulting in the science and engineering sector. Benham Investment Holdings, LLC is a consulting, engineering and architectual design company with specific competencies in industrial manufacturing and facilities construction.
The company announced an initiative to collaborate on service-oriented architecture (SOA) interoperability standards for the energy market. It also expanded its commitment to finding solutions for complex energy and climate challenges. SAIC was licensed by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) to build Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunami (DART™) systems to provide early warning detection of tsunamis. The company delivered the first tsunami detection buoy to Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. The company also completed a project for the U.S. Department of State, managing the disposal of 2,900 tons of obsolete and dangerous surplus munitions in the Republic of Albania.
SAIC won two Nunn-Perry Awards for enhancing the capabilities and increasing the participation of protégé companies in government and commercial contracts under the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program. The Small Business Administration presented SAIC with the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence in the research and development category, recognizing its commitment to using small businesses as subcontractors and suppliers. The White House Initiative for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) recognized the company for its outstanding work in providing subcontracting opportunities to the nation's HBCUs. SAIC also received the 2007 Women Impacting Public Policy Corporate Mentorship Award.
