SAIC worked with engineers from National Grid to model transmission lines using Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology and estimate the allowable operating temperature of conductors. Leveraging Power Line Systems’ Computer Aided Design and Drafting (PLS-CADD), SAIC engineers evaluated conductor clearance data against actual field conditions. SAIC also developed construction drawings to increase allowable operating temperature for National Grid.
