Nancy Grady
Technical Fellow, Analytics
Health
I work on biosurveillance data analysis projects to monitor outbreaks and epidemics. I act as a bridge between analysts who sift through data and software developers who build systems and record data. By understanding the needs of the scientists, I can translate that back to the system requirements.
What Do You Do?
Every time I go to Washington, my daughter asks if I'm going to have lunch with the President, but no. What we do is provide a system that helps analysts to do their jobs. It's important for the analyst to be able to roll the information up so that those in charge are able to get good, quick, accurate information.
What Makes SAIC Exceptional?
We have people that really understand the threats that are present and the kinds of response that will be required so you're really able to put a very diverse team together and really apply yourself to the problem.
What Do You Like About Data Analysis?
My dad was actually a mathematician and I liked the math a lot but I think I liked solving real problems more and so I drifted over more into the physics side of things where you apply the math onto problems.
