Awards & Recognition
Whether SAIC employees work directly with customers or with internal staff, they have opportunities to be recognized for their outstanding achievements. Each year SAIC rewards its employees for success in reducing company costs, publishing technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and developing systems for customers.
Achievement Awards
These awards are presented each year during a ceremony recognizing superior performance by SAIC employees in areas such as program performance, science and technology, administration, and public service.
A highlight of the ceremony is the presentation of the CEO Award. This award is selected by the CEO to honor the individual who contributes most to building SAIC through a combination of entrepreneurial initiative; internal and external team building; technical, business, and marketing skills; and perseverance.
Stock Awards
To recognize employees who perform in an outstanding manner, the company has established several stock acquisition methods, in addition to purchasing stock directly. Our employees may purchase SAIC stock directly or be awarded stock through bonuses and stock options. Stock option awards are a major part of SAIC's incentive system.
Publication Awards
Since 1984, SAIC's Executive Science and Technology Council (ESTC) has presented yearly awards for technical and scientific papers and books written by SAIC and its subsidiaries employees. The selection criteria include originality of work, significance of results, and effectiveness of presentation. Winning authors are recognized with a trophy and a cash award given in the following categories:
- Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Molecular Biology
- Applied Mathematics & Computer Sciences
- Engineering & Systems Integration
- Environment/Geophysics
- Information & Communications Technology
- Physics
- Policy/Economics/Arms Control
- Technical Books
Service Awards
Every SAIC employee receives an award to recognize years of service with the company. Employees are recognized beginning with the 5th year anniversary, and every five years thereafter up to the 40-year milestone.
Merit Scholarships
Each year SAIC funds 10 National Merit scholarships which are awarded to the children of SAIC employees. Each student receives an undergraduate scholarship worth $1,000 each year for four years. Scholarship elections are based on academic achievement, PSAT/NMSQT test scores, and other criteria set by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
