Collaborative Decisions
Better Decisions - Collaborative Decision Making
SAIC's collaborative decision making expertise is centered in a dedicated decision-support laboratory called the Strategic Solutions Center (SSC). Using the SSC - or its portable version at the client site - experienced facilitators deliver an array of processes tailored to achieve the client's goals and needs.
How clients benefit from SAIC's collaborative decision making:
- Difficult, complex problems are better defined and rendered more manageable.
- Decisions are reached with greater speed.
- Tough resource allocation problems are tamed.
- New, useful knowledge is generated-and captured.
- Consensus, understanding and buy-in begin on the spot.
- Development of new products is accelerated.
The SSC saves time and money, while producing better, more widely supported decisions.
How the SSC accelerates the process:
Individual contributions are electronically captured and displayed. Facilitated discussion sharpens group awareness and understanding. Solutions come more quickly, are more rigorously analyzed, more completely developed and documented.
In this unique collaborative environment, teams or whole organizations can achieve breakthroughs in creativity and decision making. These solutions are achieved because the environment for collaboration is tailored to fit the culture, goals, size, and physical location of each SAIC client utilizing the SSC.
Our SSC facilitators are equally adept in conducting face-to-face and virtual meetings. They are experts in the toughest challenges facing teams: strategic planning; information technology requirements generation; corporate asset allocation; business process reengineering; knowledge management; and team building. They know how to help groups gain consensus, and they understand the commercial and government environments.
Specifically, the collaborative electronic meetings have demonstrated significant benefits. Fewer meetings are needed, as immediate electronic feedback makes meetings more effective and efficient, and electronic capture of the content reduces, even eliminates, the loss of ideas between meetings and provides a traceable logic of decisions. The anonymity and simultaneous input stimulates and records creativity and produces greater consensus and commitment. With a record of the meeting available immediately, it is possible to move on quickly to the next agenda, in a subsequent meeting. The SSC saves time, saves money, and produces better, more widely-supported business decisions.
