CAAS III, Air Combat Command's Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) contract vehicle, was awarded on August 1, 2007 to eight prime contractors (four full and open, four small business primes) including SAIC. Work is being performed at Air Combat Command (ACC) headquarters at Langley Air Force Base, Va., or at 15 ACC locations across the United States.

As an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, task orders are released to all prime contractors for competitive bidding. Task orders of $500,000 annually or below are restricted to small business primes, while task orders over this threshold are distributed to the large primes. Task orders are released in one of three task areas:

  • Management and Professional Services
  • Studies, Analyses and Evaluations
  • Engineering and Technical Services

The CAAS III period of performance consists of a base year (August 9, 2007 through August 8, 2008) and four one-year option periods.
