COMMITS NexGen (Commerce Information Technology Solutions-NexGen) is a small business set aside ID/IQ Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) previously managed by the U.S. Commerce Department, which was moved in March 2008 to the General Services Administration. It is an information technology (IT) solutions task order contract available for use by all federal agencies.
The COMMITS NexGen program highlights are:
- Multiple award IDIQ, with currently 40 overall awardees
- Base ordering period through January 20, 2006, with five one-year option periods (through January 20, 2011) and five one-year option periods to complete awarded task order performance
- Solutions-based vehicle, including products and services necessary to meet requirements of ordering agency
- Work may be performed world wide
- The total contract ceiling is $8 billion
- Unless exempted by FAR 16.505(b)(2), each task order is competed under fair opportunity competitive procedures
- No fixed labor rates or categories; primes allowed to propose best solution, with focus on results
