Design Engineering Support Program II (DESP II)

The Design & Engineering Support Program II (DESP II) is a follow-on contract to DESP I for the acquisition of engineering and technical services. The scope of the contract covers (a) technology insertion, (b) reliability and maintainability, (c) deployability improvements, (d) environmental and safety compliance, (e) improvement of depot manufacturing and/or repair processes, and (f) development of information management systems and process models.

Individual task orders may encompass a broad range of engineering-related tasks, such as the following:

  • Concept exploration
  • Trade-off studies
  • Systems analysis and specification development
  • Systems design
  • Prototype manufacturing
  • System integration
  • Testing
  • Modeling and simulation
  • Engineering and technical documentation

While the DESP II contract has been specifically established for use within the Air Force Material Command (AFMC), this dynamic contract vehicle may be used by all other Air Force commands, DoD agencies (e.g., the Army, the Navy, and the Marines), and other government entities (e.g., NASA, DOE, DOT, DOS, EPA, and OSHA) having similar systems and/or needs.
