The SAIC DESP III Team is fully capable and ideally located to support Ogden (OO), Oklahoma City (OC), and Warner Robins (WR) Air Logistics Centers. Our Team also maintains offices that currently provide, or are positioned to provide, support to emerging DESP III clients, such as TACOM and other Air Force, Army, and Navy Commands.

The Design & Engineering Support Program (DESP) III or DESP III is a follow-on contract to DESP II for the acquisition of engineering and technical services. The engineering services provided under this contract vehicle include: (a) new design, (b) technical documentation, (c) diminishing material and manufacturing sources, (d) environmental improvement issues, (e) reliability, and (f) productivity, efficiency, and cost saving efforts. The vehicle also allows for limited production runs and incidental construction not to exceed $250k.

DESP III engineering services are to support specific objectives which focus on improving system life cycle cost, operational life, performance, sustainment including maintainability & support, and safety & environmental friendliness. Support may encompass a broad range of engineering-related tasks, such as the following:

  • Form-fit-function replacement
  • Technology refresh
  • Supportability improvement
  • Analysis, assessment, and investigation of problems and failures and with identification of solution alternatives
  • Technical and cost trade-offs

While the DESP III contract was specifically established for use within the Air Force Material Command (AFMC), this dynamic contract vehicle may be used by all other Air Force commands and agencies within the Department of Defense (DoD) having similar systems and/or needs.
