Scope of Service: SAIC performs all systems and infrastructure engineering for the entire Entergy enterprise. This includes engineering design and systems integration for all wireless (two-way radio), video, PBX, WAN, MAN, LAN, storage, mainframes, servers, and desktops. Our services cover architectural analysis, systems engineering, technology assessment, new capability integration, security engineering, network integration, systems integration, migration, obsolescence reviews, and capacity planning. We also maximize use of proven commercial off-the-shelf products while supporting the establishment of an industry-standard, best-practice development environment for necessary customizations — two capabilities that significantly lower risk and reduce maintenance costs.

BWXT Y-12, LLC INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OUTSOURCING (ITSO) PROGRAM

Scope of Service: Data Center: SAIC manages and operates, on a continuous 24x365 basis, two computing centers for BWXT Y-12. Support is for a diverse set of classified and unclassified computing resources, including more than 250 servers, one IBM mainframe, VAX systems, high-speed printers, and a variety of data media storage devices. SAIC monitors and oversees service contracts for hardware and software maintenance to ensure the availability of computing resources; provides information protection services through both security measures and backup procedures; tracks, inventories, maintains, and coordinates all media for full backups of computer systems, ranging from mainframes to workstations; serves as the off-hours assistance and emergency information resource for the helpline; coordinates with appropriate personnel in planning and execution of installations and other hardware changes; coordinates facility management, building operations, and emergency management activities for the two data centers; and performs disaster recovery. We also provide database administration services for UNIX®, Microsoft's Windows NT®, HP's OpenVMS, IBM®, and Stratus Technologies' VOS computer systems, and multiple database management systems, including Oracle®, IBM's DB2, CA's CA-IDMS, Microsoft's SQL Server, Sybase®, and Informix®. SAIC installs and maintains supported database management systems; configures and tunes databases for optimal performance; implements and maintains database security appropriate for the applicable computer security guidelines; and monitors database activity to detect and assist in correcting potential problems before they become critical and impact performance.
