GeoRover Software Products Overview

GeoRover geospatial software products are developed by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and are designed and sold as extensions or "plug-ins" to the ArcMap™ component of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI^®) ArcGIS^® Desktop GIS software versions 8.x and 9.x. GeoRover Tools for ArcGIS Extensions Description

Locus Track - powerful tools for geospatial feature data creation, editing, and geospatial data fusion

The GeoRover Locus Track extension is optimized for importing, creating, editing, and exporting data through the powerful ArcGIS system, all from a single toolbar. These tools will save valuable time and reduce required training. Using unique and flexible import tools, editing interfaces, and export wizards, work with data from many sources (text files, spreadsheets, databases) and in many different coordinate formats. Using the Locus Track tools, generate ArcGIS data products or ArcGIS-derived products in seconds. Import Excel^® spreadsheets (with coordinates) into geodatabase feature classes with a few mouse clicks or generate entire PowerPoint^® presentations and web pages from ArcGIS layers within seconds. These examples and much more can be accomplished with the Locus Track extension. Key features:

• Create complete PowerPoint presentations for all (or selected) features from your GIS data. All slide elements (main content, title, text bullets, and insets) are automatically generated and user customizable
• Export ArcMap display and layers into interactive HTML file(s) with hyperlinks and user-defined pop-up labels
• GeoRover tools are compatible with geodatabases (personal and enterprise [ArcSDE^®])
• Interactive (point-and-click) and coordinate-based tools for creating and editing features from shapefiles and geodatabase feature classes (personal and enterprise)
• One-step editing of point, line, and area (polygon) features and their attributes
• Add linked data (video, images, audio, documents, slides, spreadsheets, databases, URLs, etc.) to any feature
• Access any linked data with a simple point and click

Digital Data Tracker - field data collection tools and real-time map navigation

The GeoRover Digital Data Tracker extension is the field data collection component of the GeoRover product suite. It provides tools for easily importing track logs and waypoint logs from a variety of GPS receivers into ArcMap™. Using the GPS track information, digital files (images, video clips, audio clips, text) collected in the field from a variety of devices can be automatically georeferenced. Track logs and georeferenced data layers are saved as shapefiles or can be added to existing feature classes in a personal or ArcSDE geodatabase. The result is an interactive map display with links to field data that can be exported as a web page for easy information sharing. Key Features:

• Downloads track logs and waypoints from GPS receivers into new or existing ArcMap layers
• Supports Garmin^® (serial and USB), Magellan^® (serial) and NMEA GPS protocols
• Real-time track log with moving map display for navigation includes heading and current coordinate readout
• Georeferences and plots field data (digital images, video clips, audio recording, etc.) by correlating the data with the GPS information
• Flexible data collection options:
• GPS receiver and digital camera only (or other device) in the field. No pc or cable connections required
• Real-time with tablet/laptop PC
• Export ArcMap display and layers into interactive HTML file with hyperlinks and user-defined pop-up labels
• Use the Geolocation Wizard to georeference data using non-standard track logs, different time offset methods, and to set up real-time geolocation functionality with the real-time track log mode
• Synchronize PC time to GPS receiver time with single click
• Access the georeferenced field data from maps and images with simple point and click
• Add new points to existing geolocated data by clicking on display or entering coordinates (DD, DM, DMS, UTM, MGRS)

Zoom Tools - rapid map zooming and "go-to" capabilities

• One-click zoom to common scales (5K, 25K, 50K, 100K, 250K, 500K, 1M, 2M, 5M, 10M)
• Go-to (pan-and-zoom) specific coordinate locations (DD, DM, DMS, UTM, MGRS, XY)
• Show graphic on screen for any coordinate
• Instantly convert between all supported coordinate formats: Decimal Degrees (DD), Degrees Decimal Minutes (DM), Degrees Minutes Seconds (DMS), Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM), Military Grid Reference System (MGRS), and XY
• Access to dozens of other zoom scale buttons via the customize toolbar options. Options range from 1:1,000 to 1:100,000,000
