SAIC provides web conferencing as a service to SAIC clients and employees through WebEx and DataXchange. Web conferencing facilitates collaboration by allowing participants to share documents and applications over the Internet. Similarly to participating in a telephone conference call, where many people from different locations hold a meeting using the telephone, web conferencing allows you to set up a meeting via your computer, where participants have a wide range of tools with which to communicate.

About WebEx

SAIC has contracted with InterCall for online WebEx meeting services. WebEx is compatible with all major operating systems and Internet browsers. With WebEx, SAIC has increased web conferencing availability and now, each conference running at a given time can hold up to 200 participants.

Services include presenter ability to display their desktop to all attendees and "promote" an attendee to the presenter role. This enables the attendee to take control of the presenters desktop or share information from their own desktop. Additionally, WebEx has a slide show feature and an online "whiteboard" where presenters can draw pictures and diagrams and share text in the conference. There is also a discussion area where conference members can post comments for select individual attendees or the entire group.

For security purposes, there is no storage of conference data on the conference servers. Please note that at this time, the audio, video, recording and call back features are not available. Participants do not need a license to use WebEx.

About DataXchange

DataXchange web conferencing allows sharing of PowerPoint presentations, Excel files, Word documents, and virtually any Windows application with multiple users via a web browser. Users may also actively update and change documents during a conference by sharing the application.

DataXchange is a trademark of Avaya, Inc.
