Our Ownership Culture
We believe our legacy of employee ownership and culture of ownership have contributed greatly to our success as a company over the years. At SAIC, stock ownership is spread broadly among our 44,000 employees.
SAIC's Culture of Ownership
Our company was founded on the belief that those who contribute to the company's success should own a stake in the company and benefit from its success. Today, our chairman of the board and CEO, Ken Dahlberg, and a new generation of SAIC employee owners continue that belief. Our commitment to employee ownership and the stock ownership and rewards programs that stand behind it helps us attract and retain sought-after professionals with in-demand expertise.
In today's challenging environment, creativity and initiative are critical elements in solving customers' problems. We believe employee ownership and thinking and acting like owners motivates higher creativity and initiative along with better performance for customers, and higher levels of customer satisfaction.
Our culture of ownership has worked because SAIC employees see how their actions can contribute to not only the company's financial success, but also to their own and that of all SAIC stockholders. To encourage employees to become owners, the company provides several ways for them to acquire stock. Employees may receive stock bonuses or stock option awards for outstanding performance, business development and major contributions. They may purchase stock directly through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees may also gain ownership through the company's retirement plan. These programs help to spread ownership of SAIC stock broadly across our employee base.
Very few companies have had a foundation of employee ownership that is longer and broader than SAIC. Our culture of ownership has grown and expanded for over 37 years, demonstrating its value through our success and in many different business and political environments.

“You can see the direct results of decisions that you make. It's a whole different mind-set to be thinking as an owner.”
Tyrone Mason
“Employee ownership is important to me because it's not just investing in a company; it's investing in ourselves, our performance, and our future.”
Donna Corbett
“Because I'm an owner, I feel part of the big picture and the plan for where SAIC is going. And because I own, I care, and because I care, I own.”
Certified Employee Owner (C.E.O.) Program
SAIC's Certified Employee Owner (C.E.O.) Program delivers the core information new employees need to know to be a part of our great company - from getting to know our values and strategic business goals, to understanding your financial choices in our employee ownership and retirement programs, and learning how our business and financials work. The C.E.O. program is part of SAIC's new employee assimilation process. Our CEO Ken Dahlberg has set the goal of having all new employees complete the Program within their first 12 months at SAIC.
"One of the reasons that employees join our company is because of our values and employee ownership heritage. New employees need to understand our culture and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives it on Day One, and feel a part of our unique business model. This is key to sustaining our robust stock ownership with the new generation of employees."
