Success Stories
-
Gas Oil Hydrotreater/Mild Hydrocracker DesignBuild
SAIC provided engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for a 15,000 barrels per steam day gas oil hydrotreater/mild hydrocracker located at this refinery in Utah. Major components of this $53 million project include charge and recycle pumps, main reactors, ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) reactor, stripper, and fractionator to make low sulfur naphtha, diesel, ULSD, heavy diesel, and gas/oil fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit feed stock. This new facility will provide low sulfur and reduced sulfur products to enhance refining product slate.
-
Fluid Catalytic Cracker Vapor Recovery Unit Upgrade
This $2.5 million Kansas refinery upgrade includes detailed engineering and design of the expansion of the vapor recovery section of the current fluid catalytic cracking unit to allow an overall capacity of 42 million barrels per day (MBPD) production throughput.
-
GoFiner Isotherming/Trickle Bed Unit Upgrade
SAIC supported a $3 million Kansas refinery revamp by providing detailed design to install a new reactor loop and make-up compressor to desulfurize the gas oil stream to the level required to meet the new low sulfur gasoline regulations. This included revamping various areas of the unit to increase capacity to 50 MBPD.
-
Refinery Technology Improvements
SAIC assisted a Croatian refinery by implementing comprehensive technology improvements to their FCC unit. Our responsibilities included preliminary design, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), budget estimate, equipment layout and engineering, detailed design, pipe flex and stress analysis, instrumentation, and construction phase services.
-
Amine Regenerator Unit Design
SAIC provided preliminary design, detailed engineering, and design services, and an authorization for expenditure quality estimate for a $10 million amine regenerator unit installed in major refiner's Oklahoma facility. Additional services included procurement assistance, vendor coordination, and mechanical data books.
