Corporate Sustainability Strategies for Telecommunications

For a global telecommunications firm, SAIC is working with corporate environmental and health staff to strengthen and implement innovative sustainability procedures to demonstrate environmental leadership. This includes designing clean fuels programs for fleets, increased recycling, reducing pollutants and hazardous waste, and implementing green and safe operations.

Sustainability Services for Federal Agencies

SAIC provides a range of sustainability services to federal agencies, including planning and facilitating strategic planning efforts that lead to long-term goals and transformational change. We also integrate sustainability into ongoing Environmental Management System (EMS) and strategic planning processes; consult on topics such as energy, acquisition, and engagement strategies; deliver specialized training and workshops on sustainability and strategic risk management; and help develop successful proposals to pilot new and emerging technologies.

Public-Private Partnerships to Promote Sustainability

Since 1996, SAIC has been the prime consultant supporting a San Francisco Bay Area Sustainability Partnership (www.stopwastepartnership.org) comprising 17 cities, two utilities, and an economic development agency that won the California Governor's Economic and Environmental Leadership Award. Since it's founding, this $10M program has helped more than 700 businesses and institutions eliminate waste, reduce operating costs, and increase efficiencies.

Sustainability Planning and Implementation for Airports

SAIC provides sustainability planning services for two major U.S. west coast airports. The contracts cover strategies for conserving, reducing, and recycling materials in the design, construction, and operation of facilities, developing business plans for major closed-loop resource recovery facilities, and advising the airports on sustainable strategies, renewable energy, and climate change response planning.

Applying Advanced Technologies to Meet Corporate Sustainability Goals

SAIC employed telematics technology to test hybrid vehicles on behalf of a major automobile company. We also implemented a $20M fleet management system to reduce fuel use and improve vehicle performance for a large U.S. telecommunications firm.
