Analysis and Assessment

From the development of programmatic environmental impact assessments to project-level assessments, SAIC provides high-quality, scientifically sound health risk assessment services.

Air Pollutant Transport Modeling and Health Risk Assessment

SAIC offers expertise with most agency-approved air quality models to assist your permitting and compliance requirements. This experience includes Gaussian dispersion theory models, puff models, and chemical mass balance models. Our experts are familiar with the models and techniques, ranging from screening-level to complex local- or regional-scale models.

SAIC also applies atmospheric dispersion modeling for conducting human health risk assessments under a variety of regulatory contexts. This includes project experience with risk assessment programs used by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, as well as other agencies.

Support to Environment Impact Assessments

Air pollution regulations around the world are getting more complicated due to increasing concerns about ground-level air quality, visibility degradation, and the impact of greenhouse gases on global climate change. SAIC's air quality engineers and scientists help our customers develop successful air quality management strategies that can achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and sustainability objectives in a cost-effective manner.

SAIC has performed environmental impact assessment (EIA) for projects of all sizes, including major infrastructure projects. Our expertise with the United States' National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is nationally recognized in the environmental, energy, engineering, and nuclear fields. We have similar experience with state-level environmental planning laws, most notably the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). SAIC's air quality team provides technical support to EIAs that is carefully tailored to the technical and regulatory specifics of each program or project. We have demonstrated that, in addition to comprehensive technical expertise, we can provide the project planning and management, regulatory support, data management, and public communications specialty disciplines that are essential for successfully executing complex EIA efforts. SAIC also offers aquatic sciences environment assessment services.
