Monitoring and Meteorology

SAIC offers proven experience in the field of ambient air quality monitoring and has designed, installed, and operated ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring networks for more than 20 years.

Development of Air Monitoring Programs

SAIC air quality professionals have expertise in developing air monitoring programs from conception to operation. This includes site selection for monitoring stations as well as specifying and selecting monitoring instrumentation and ancillary systems to meet our customers' technical and/or regulatory objectives.

Monitoring of Air Pollutants and Meteorology

SAIC has a wide array of monitoring experience under various geographical and temporal situations, including offshore, desert, mountainous, arctic, and tropical settings. This knowledge gives insight toward utilizing the most appropriate monitoring equipment for the task at hand. Our monitoring programs have ranged from short-term single-pollutant or meteorology studies to longer-term multi-pollutant characterizations.

Specialized Monitoring Capabilities

SAIC has specialized monitoring capabilities for evaluations of ambient concentrations and sources of air toxics, measurements of air emissions from municipal and hazardous waste landfills, integrated fenceline monitoring, assessments of indoor environments, and chemical characterization of ambient aerosols.

Source Testing

SAIC capabilities also include assisting customers in the coordination of source tests for regulatory compliance. These tasks involve the development of source testing protocols as well as source test reports that present the sampling and analysis methods, data, calculations, and results. SAIC communicates with the responsible regulatory agency early in the process so items of concern can be addressed up front.
