Consultancy
SAIC offers ongoing consultancy service to ensure that the change process of deregulation is as painless as possible for an organisation and its consumers.
Overview
We can also assist clients in meeting the ongoing legislative requirements and ensuring that technical changes do not impact certification of the client's applications.
Deregulation
SAIC's experience in assisting its UK clients through the deregulation process has been invaluable to our international clients. In the US, deregulation has been implemented state-by-state, so many suppliers have been forced to operate two sets of systems in order to meet legislative requirements.
SAIC assisted a US based client through its initial deregulation process, by providing consultancy services, programme management and a range of technical activities to ensure that the change process was as painless as possible for the organisation and it's consumers.
NETA/BETTA
Since the implementation of the UK New Energy Trading Arrangements (NETA), the number of change and modification notices has become onerous for our clients. Much of the information is irrelevant to certain sections of the business, but concern over missing a vital issue meant that our clients were duplicating effort and attempting to read everything that arrived.
SAIC now acts as a filter point for all discussion papers and reports released from OFGEM and co-ordinates the distribution of material to relevant parts of the client company. An executive summary is included, with additional information from SAIC where appropriate.
In addition, SAIC attends the Balance & Settlement Code (BSC) Panel on behalf of its clients, and ensures that their interests are represented and concerns are heard.
Currently, we are heavily involved in activities relating to BETTA (British Energy Trading and Transmission Arrangements), and are working with our clients to re-model their business processes in preparation for its implementation in 2005.
