Field Atlas
SAIC has created a powerful, intuitive and compact atlas stocked with a wealth of information and is customizable to customer needs in either printed or digital GeoPDF® format.
Compact, Customizable Maps for Field Use
Atlases provide a predictable series of durable common reference field documents for the warfighter, decision-maker, or first-responder. Atlases can contain several map series, each with an independent scale and purpose. Maps and/or imagery in the series can be compiled as a new map from base map sources and/or existing cartographic sources such as government or native map sheets. Atlases can provide cartographic maps over an area or be tailored to provide cartographic maps and imagery coverage over the same geospatial area on two facing pages of the bound document. Custom overlays and marginalia can be applied on a customer-defined basis for mission-specific uses.
The Field Atlas is offered in either printed or GeoPDF® format, making it a versatile and powerful solution for a wide variety of uses. The atlas is fully customized for a customer's needs, and can include information from a vast array of sources from satellite imagery, native maps, and tourist information. Dual-language capability and searchable text can be incorporated depending on compilation source. The atlas can be updated to keep the information current and is readable in red and blue-green light.
Atlas products can be produced in any size, on any printed medium, and in any number of pages depending on the geographic area. The small size of an atlas makes it convenient to utilize and transport in operational environments where space, continuity of operations, and total geographic coverage is essential. As a bound document, the atlas provides increased durability and continuity of operations over digital map sources.
