Compact, Customizable Maps for Military Use

SAIC's Urban and Country Atlases provide a compact cartographic information source to the warfighter or intelligence officer. Our atlases can contain several map series, each with an independent scale and purpose. Maps in the series can be compiled as a new map from base map sources and/or existing cartographic sources such as government or native map sheets. The advantage of an atlas product is its small page-size, compared to a traditional military or native road map sheet that provides all the content of traditional military or native road map sheets. Since the atlas is a book, the facing pages can be used to portray two different sets of data over the same area. Imagery can be applied to one page and a traditional map of the same area to the other. Overlays also can be applied on an as-needed basis. Once an atlas has been produced, custom overlays can be quickly added and a custom atlas can be printed for mission-specific uses.

Since these products are digitally produced, they also can be provided in a digital form as a GeoPDF® or any other current image format. Also, depending on the compilation source, searchable text may be available.
