Enabling First Responder Preparedness
SAIC supports a major federal government preparedness center in conducting a variety of courses and training exercises for first responders, including physicians, nurses and emergency medical technicians. In addition to designing and developing emergency responder curricula, we also provide qualified instructors to lead the courses. We apply expertise in medical simulation, operate wireless mannequins, and provide human-patient simulators to facilitate training of medical personnel.
Applying Modeling and Simulation Technologies to Warfighter Performance Research
Improving the care of wounded soldiers and promoting resilience and recovery is a key mission area for one SAIC client. SAIC is facilitating this objective by connecting core strengths in data analytics with our deep understanding of modeling and simulation. Utilizing a Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN), SAIC supports research to evaluate the use of virtual environments to accelerate the rehabilitation process, identify previously undetected forms of traumatic brain injury, study soldier physical and cognitive response during virtual combat, and determine new ways of minimizing or mitigating the impact of operational stressors.
