Emergency Preparedness and Response
SAIC experts in public health, emergency response and disaster recovery work with clients to help them anticipate, plan for, detect and respond to health emergencies, whether local, national or global.
Overview
We design and implement interoperable information systems that enable public health officials, first responders and other emergency personnel to share critical information and resources. We develop and use technology to help speed the detection of and response to disease outbreaks and bioterrorist attacks through the integration of syndromic surveillance systems that capture and report health data indicators in near real-time.
Our emergency preparedness and response solutions include emergency planning, multi-agency training, and exercises to enable organizations to plan for and execute a coordinated response when disaster strikes. We offer tools to assess vulnerabilities, predict hazards and analyze consequences. These tools help first responders and other preparedness officials evaluate risk and determine resource requirements as they formulate a response.
We also support the development and acquisition of vaccines, therapeutics and medical countermeasures that can protect public health in the event of a biological, chemical or radiological attack.
Our services include:
- Threat and vulnerability assessments
- Response plans
- Training and exercises
- Syndromic surveillance
