A leader in DoD INFOSEC Training
SAIC provides top-notch INFOSEC training for federal security personnel, including the Defense Information Systems Agency and other DoD agencies. We are the lead trainers for the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), and we provide three certification courses for DoD System Administrators. One Level 1 Windows (2 day), one Level 2 Windows (4 day), and one Level 2 Linux/UNIX (3 day) course are offered every month to government and supporting contractor personnel. To date, more than 800 personnel have been trained and certified as Level 1 or Level 2 system administrators.

SAIC's Information Assurance (IA) Training Support for DoD

For over 10 years, SAIC has provided significant support to the DoD wide IA training, education, and awareness program. SAIC has developed over 40 award winning IA training and awareness self paced web-based training (WBT) and computer-based training (CBT) products. The CyberProtect CBT won two NewMedia Invision awards, both Gold and Best of Show for Technical Training and Best Overall Design as well as a CINDY Silver award from multimedia organizations. The Information Security Shorts WBT was the recipient of a 2006 Silver Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning.

SAIC works with all DoD COCOMs, services, and agencies in identifying common DoD IA learning objectives. These learning objectives are then used to develop and deploy a DoD wide training, education, and awareness program designed to address DoD's most common misunderstandings with regards to protecting DoD information and information systems.

SAIC also has developed and routinely delivers a series of platform courses tailored for specific information assurance professionals such as; DAA's, IAM's, IAO's, and System Administrators explaining and detailing their IA roles and responsibilities while protecting DoD information and information systems. SAIC is currently under contract to develop a course that can deliver a significant amount of experience defending DoD networks using recognized DoD approved tools. This course will use a proprietary network traffic generator called the System Administrator Simulation Trainer (SAST) developed by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. SAST will be the first live fire IA training range for SA's and IA professionals to actively use IA tools to defend a network modeled after the typical DoD network configuration.
