Airborne Systems

Quick-reaction, special mission, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions, both manned and unmanned, for critical intelligence needs.

Airborne ISR Overview

SAIC leverages decades of operational and technical integration expertise to rapidly design, integrate, deploy, and support specialized, leading edge airborne ISR sensor packages.

The pace of changing technologies and a dynamic array of threats demand agile intelligence collection ready to deploy quickly. SAIC's airborne ISR systems have flown tens of thousands of hours supporting the warfighter in combat zones. Our systems are also leading the battle against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other threats.

In addition to providing airborne systems, SAIC’s expertise includes sophisticated ground stations able to process and exploit critical information.

Airborne ISR Capabilities

SAIC’s capabilities in airborne sensor systems; processing, exploitation, and dissemination technologies; and worldwide mission support all help our customers in the intelligence community and the Department of Defense face the toughest global ISR challenges. Our key capabilities include:

  • Air/ground systems integration and operations and maintenance
  • Geospatial solutions
  • Advanced communications systems

SAIC’s expertise spans multiple sensor domains:

  • Penetration Radar (PENRAD) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
  • Hyperspectral imagers with advanced algorithms
  • Signals Intelligence
  • Active laser sensors such as LiDAR (light detection and ranging)
  • Radio frequency electronic intelligence (ELINT) and measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT)
  • Wide area surveillance
  • Full motion video, both electro-optical and infrared

A Mission Capability Integrator

SAIC possesses the key capabilities and technologies that increase recognition as a mission capability integrator providing real-time multi-intelligence (Multi-INT) to the warfighter:

  • Tactical Multi-INT Fusion System (TMiFS) hardware and software modernization
  • Automatic LiDAR processing
  • Hyperspectral processing, ad hoc communications antennas
  • High bandwidth multi-INT compression
