Access ISSAIC
ISSAIC (eye-zik), the Information Source for SAIC, is available to active SAIC employees, or other staff who have been sponsored by an SAIC employee. The following instructions explain the options to connect to ISSAIC. If your question is not answered here, please contact the Service Desk.
Before You Begin
- Visit the Computer Services Site to open a new SAIC Username/Password account.
- Register your email address if your email account is not hosted by Corporate exchange services.
How to Access ISSAIC
- If you do not have one, open an SAIC Username/Password account
- Go to https://issaic.saic.com
(Note the "s" appended to the http.) - When you are prompted to enter your username and password, type your SAIC Username/Password and click OK to access ISSAIC.
Register Your Email Address
When you register your email, you are provided an @SAIC.COM email address you can include in correspondence or reference on your business cards. It also allows other employees to look up your email address using the SAIC People Directory on ISSAIC, and permits you to receive important company-wide announcements.
You need to register your email account when:
- Your SAIC People Directory page indicates you have not registered your email, so your address does not display.
- Your email address or system has changed (an update to a previously registered address).
Each individual employee must register their email address from their own email account. DO NOT REGISTER FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
Email Registration and Microsoft Exchange Customers
If you have an Exchange account, either through SAIC Corporate or at a remote site, and you register another email address, messages sent from other SAIC Exchange accounts will be delivered directly to your Exchange mailbox and will not be forwarded to your other registered email address.
Messages from outside of SAICnet addressed to one of your standard "aliases" (first.middleinitial.last@saic.com and username@saic.com) would be redirected and delivered to your registered address, however this would create a situation where some, but not all of your email would be forwarded. If you will be using another email account at a non-SAIC location for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you close your Exchange account, or employ one of our remote access solutions (Outlook Web Access, PAL, VPN) to access your SAIC email.
Not sure if you have an Exchange account? If you are using a version of Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Web Access to access your email, you probably have an Exchange account - check with your local network or site support point of contact. You can also contact the SAIC Help Desk and verify if you have an Exchange account.
To register or update your email address:
- Start a new message from your primary email account (the account where you want to receive/read your SAIC email).
- Address a message to directory@saic.com.
- Leave the title or subject of the message blank.
- Be sure the message format is in Plain Text or Rich Text - HTML will not work!
- In the body of the message, type:
- For employees:
Type the word email followed by a space, type your employee number followed by a space, and type your last name.
For example, James Bond, employee 007, would enter the following: Email 007 bond - For temporary employees:
Type the word email followed by a space, type your standard userid (usually your last name and first initial, i.e., James Bond's standard userid would be bondj) followed by a space, and type your last name.
For example, James Bond, temporary employee, would enter the following: Email bondj bond
- For employees:
- Send the message.
- Within one business day, you will receive an email response message to confirm you are registered.
NOTE: If your email address does not end with saic.com, (example:bondj@gateway.com) the procedure to register your email will require additional steps. After completing the steps 1 - 6 above, special instructions will be emailed to you.
