Document Management

SAIC designs a variety of integrated document imaging and management systems for recording, scanning, indexing, storing, and retrieval of documents. Our systems allow authorized users to access, modify, review, copy, and exchange specific records information from remote terminals connected to mainframes or any other host via a client/server architecture. Local system users can retrieve index data, send facsimiles and billing information, and query the mainframe records index. Our solutions are modular and flexible, which is essential to overall project adaptability.

Success Stories

State of New York Accident Information System (AIS)
Designed and developed for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the AIS serves the public safety mission of the State of New York. Data from motorist and police-filed accident reports is entered into a information system to track numerous accident factors so that public safety officials can analyze trends, identify dangerous roads and intersections, and potentially revoke the driving privileges of accident-prone motorists. Paper accident reports are scanned and indexed for further processing by multiple DMV entities. Key features of the system include automatic matching of police and motorist reports, receipt of police reports electronically, automatic update of motorist license records, and automatic transfer of accident location data to the State Department of Transportation for road safety analysis. Approximately 600,000 accident cases are processed within AIS annually.

State of Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC)
One example of SAIC's successful implementation of document imaging solutions is for the State of Maryland AOC. That office is responsible for recording and archiving land records throughout the state. To aid in fulfilling this large management duty, SAIC is contributing to the improvement of records management in the land records departments of clerks' offices statewide. Their responsibility includes recording, indexing, storing, and retrieving large quantities of land records documents. SAIC is providing a turnkey solution for a document imaging system for record management and workflow control. The results are significantly improved productivity and efficiency of day-to-day operations.
