Supply Chain Management Services
SAIC currently provides supply chain management services through a series of integrated supply and contractor logistics support contracts, including the following programs:
Prime Vendor Maintenance Repair and Operations (PV MRO)
SAIC holds six individual prime vendor contracts to provide maintenance supplies to federal facilities in the continental United States (CONUS) and Hawaii/Guam via PurchasePlace™, our proprietary Internet electronic order entry and e-catalog system. SAIC supplies facilities items, such as plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), lumber, hardware and assorted industrial materials. We rapidly deliver commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products to over 200 federal ordering activities via PV MRO. View the fact sheet.
Privatization of Packaged Petroleum, Oils, Lubricants and Chemicals (POLChem)
SAIC provides integrated logistics support, including full item management, while managing and delivering packaged POL and chemical products to worldwide customers and providing support through customer-direct shipments. Our supply chain management services include collaborative demand planning and forecasting, order processing and fulfillment, procurement, inventory management, quality control, storage, packaging, transportation and distribution, obsolescence management, data management and delivery, customer support services, and material returns. To learn more please see the POLChem Program Case Study.
Tires Successor Initiative (TSI)
SAIC provides supply chain management services, including forecasting, procurement, inventory management, and worldwide distribution of military aircraft and ground vehicle tires directly to DoD and FMS end-users. Our responsibilities also include managing the tire life-cycle cost program and the supply of aircraft tire retreads, scrap pick-up, recycling and disposal of aircraft tires.
Integrated Prime Vendor (IPV)
SAIC provides consumable parts supply and logistics management services through multiple IPV contracts. We supply parts ranging from Pre-Expended Bin (PEB) items to weapon system subassemblies, to major U.S. military maintenance depots and the mechanics maintaining major weapon systems. The result: SAIC has consistently maintained a greater than 99 percent bin fill rate on IPV, cutting the cycle time it takes to get aircraft, ground vehicles and other weapon systems back in the field. We achieve this success thanks in part to our SCOPTIMA® supply chain management system . SCOPTIMA tracks material levels across thousands of bins and as parts are consumed, it forecasts when items should be reordered to avoid empty bins.
Automotive Prime Vendor Worldwide (APVW)
We supply streamlined acquisition and delivery of automotive parts required by U.S. military customers CONUS/Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). Under the APVW program, SAIC provides expedited delivery of material requisitions in a price list format via Electronic Data Interchange. This 10-year contract also includes non-price-listed items ("spot buys") and fulfillment of low volume, hard-to-find items. In 2010, SAIC was awarded the DLA's annual Business Alliance Award for Outstanding Readiness for our support of APVW. For more information about our vehicle parts supply chain programs, please see the APVW Case Study.
Emergency Preparedness and Response Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Programs
SAIC provides supply chain management and logistics services through a series of contracts to CBRNE, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and other first responder customers. Our services include procurement of COTS equipment, end items and spares; new equipment training; kitting; coordination of material shipping and receiving CONUS/OCONUS; inventory and asset management; preventative and corrective maintenance; deployment readiness training; and deployment of personnel and equipment in declared emergency responses and federal, state and local exercises.
