Defense Transformation
From developing future warfighting concepts to implementing integrated solutions, SAIC provides a wide range of technical support to the U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), which is leading the military’s transformation efforts.
As a pioneer in the study of the Revolution in Military Affairs, SAIC has been instrumental in helping develop the conceptual foundation for the Department of Defense's approach to transformation. Today, we support numerous USJFCOM missions, including finding new ways to help the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines better integrate their warfighting capabilities.
To build on this success and better serve our USJFCOM customers, SAIC recently opened the Joint System-of-Systems Collaborative Environment Laboratory (JSCEL) in Suffolk, Virginia. The laboratory will play a significant role in the transformation of the Armed Forces by allowing SAIC's customers to see firsthand transformational capabilities, such as live-virtual-constructive simulation integration, system-of-systems concepts, rapid prototyping and connectivity to other distributed transformation efforts.
Connected to military installations worldwide, the JSCEL provides capabilities for experimenting with new concepts and technologies using distributed simulation, and will focus on the most pressing problems facing U.S. forces in the global war on terror.
In addition to the new laboratory, SAIC continues to support USJFCOM with joint concept development and experimentation, joint training, joint force integration, and joint force provision.
For example, to achieve interoperability of future C4ISR systems, SAIC helps the Joint Interoperability and Integration Directorate and the Joint Systems Integration Command by facilitating command and control requirements generation, integration, testing, and near-term technology insertion.
SAIC also helps to plan, coordinate, and execute experimentation events for the Joint Experimentation Directorate. As part of this effort, we provide experimentation engineering and architecture support for development of the collaborative information environment and system of system analysts to develop operational net assessments and training for Regional Combatant Commanders.
Our assistance also extends to the Joint Training Directorate, where we support military exercises around the world in the Joint Warfighting Center and assist the Joint National Training Capability's Joint Management Office with process management and requirements integration support. SAIC's Joint Digital Library System is used throughout the command to provide global, just-in-time knowledge sources and services.
As prime contractor for the Joint Precision Strike Demonstration Support Program, SAIC is working to deliver transformational capabilities to the uniformed warfighter.
By integrating advanced live, virtual and constructive simulation across distributed sites, SAIC has enabled innovative new training approaches.
