1Rack Unit Fixed Expansion Chassis

Overview

SAIC engineers have designed a rugged 1Rack Unit Fixed Expansion Chassis that will hold up to two 3.5” half-height form factor devices.

Applications

The chassis is designed for integration into harsh industrial/tactical environments, and offers reduced installation time into enclosures utilizing standard EIA 310 guidelines. See photo.

Features

The 1RU Fixed Expansion Chassis features the following:

• HP SureStore DAT24 and one external SCSI cable
• Independent 5VDC and 12VDC power supplies provide power for up to two devices
• Chassis uses standard IEC 320 connecter with bail
• Guarded on/off rocker switch for front panel controls
• DAT24 drive:
  • 24 GB compressed capacity
  • Compressed transfer rate of 7.2 GB/hr
  • Reads and writes DDS-1 and DDS-2 media
  • Each drive has eject button and indicators for Tape and Clean

Benefits

The chassis has a view window in the bottom to allow access of the configuration switches for each device mounted.
