Neptune 2 Rack Unit Workstation Center

The Neptune 2 Rack Unit (2RU) Workstation Center is designed to meet the Grade A MIL-STD shock and vibration requirements encountered in the harsh shipboard environment.

Overview

The Neptune 2RU Workstation Center is an EIA 19 inches wide, 2RU (3.5" H) maintenance tray which is only 23.75 inches long. The basic maintenance tray includes an SAIC Rugged Emerald IV Model FPD 17-E (17.0 inches viewable) color Flat Panel Display (FPD), an eight computer port, 4 user port Raritan Master Console MX KVM switch ruggedized by SAIC, and a rugged Cortron Model 121 integrated PS2 keyboard/trackball.

Applications

The Neptune 2RU Workstation Center is designed to meet the Grade A MIL-STD shock and vibration requirements encountered in the harsh shipboard environment.

Features

Small size and weight: The 17.0" Emerald IV FPD weighs only 10.4 lbs. The rugged metal enclosure of the Emerald IV 17.0" flat panel display is only 1.9" deep.

High quality FPD: With a 17.0" viewable display, native resolution capabilities from 640 x 480 up to 1280 x 1024, a contrast ration of 200:1 (minimum), and dual inputs for video, the Emerald IV is a versatile, rugged, and extremely capable FPD.

Low power usage: The 17.0" Rugged Emerald IV requires only 40 watts of power. The switch requires only 20 watts of power to operate.

Safety features: In the 2RU Maintenance Tray, the 17.0" Rugged Emerald IV locks in the down position and in two different "up" positions for safety. When the Emerald IV is stored inside the Maintenance Tray, an internal interlock switch turns off power to the FPD if it has been inadvertently left on before stowing.

Integrated Rugged Cortron Keyboard/Trackball: is designed to meet the Spill/Rain/Dust Proof requirements of MIL-STD 810 and is compliant with EMI/RFI/TEMPEST. The integrated Optical Force Sensor Pointing Device (trackball) with a three (3) button capability and companion keyboard support activities with virtually trouble-free operation throughout its projected 69,000 hour MTBF lifetime (almost eight calendar years).

Space-saving: The Raritan Eight (8) Port Master Console MX4 Switch is an intelligent HMI KVM switch that allows up to four users to interact with eight separate computers.

Benefits

The small size and shock-tested durability are designed to make this product useful in harsh shipboard environments.

The Neptune is available with optional KVM configurations. This can save valuable rack space and reduce the overall number of required workstation maintenance positions.

System Features

Part No. 136-32300 Basic unit with keyboard, trackball, 17" FPD, without KVM option SAIC.
Part No. 136-32005 Master Console MX4X8 Switch Option: The custom Master Console is an intelligent HMI switch that allows up to four users to interact with eight separate computers. This local user position eliminates the need for "processor specific" (dedicated) administrator workstations, which saves valuable rack space and reduces the overall number of required workstation maintenance positions. This reduces both the investment in initial acquisition and sparing. The advanced on-screen user interface makes its operation both simple and secure. Basic unit with MX4X8 Switch, keyboard, trackball, and 17" FPD.
Part No. 136-32200 CompuSwitch 1X8 (CS-8) Switch Option: This KVM switch allows a single user to select and interact with one of eight computers. This single user to eight computers reduces the space required for the other seven user interfaces. Basic unit with 1X8 KVM Switch, keyboard, trackball, and 17" FPD.
Part No. 136-32100 The Optional Basic Functional Plate (BFP) adapts the Neptune 2RU Workstation Center to the HP 750/755 TAC-3 series computer.
