AT-900 Series Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM)
Overview
The AT-900 Series Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) is a complete vehicle monitoring system used for the rapid detection of unknown hidden radioactive sources in moving vehicles. A full color console guides a gatehouse operator to each radiation alarm, linking the alarm to a passing vehicle. The AT-900 Series is a sophisticated design enabling operators to initiate the proper response once the system has alarmed.
The system is suitable for:
- Trucks
- Trains
- Chargebuckets
- Containers
- Conveyors
Applications
Government and private businesses, around the world count on AT-900S systems to detect the presence of radioactive emissions.
- Customs security - border crossings, ports
- Truck
- Rail
- Container
- Rail yards
- Industrial
- Scrap metal industry
Features
The AT-900 Series Radiation Portal Monitor is a user-friendly, console-driven, automatic system, designed for "one button" operation. The AT-900S is a modular design consisting of a variable number of independent detectors that enables system configuration adaptations for specific applications and installation requirements.
The AT-900 Series has multiple user-settable energy-dependent alarm thresholds that minimize unnecessary alarms from normal cargo materials.
Key features include:
- Graphic real-time display shows vehicle transit on screen
- Graphic real-time alarm shows position of radioactive material in passing vehicle
- Global analysis: Alarm algorithms will take into consideration data from measurements before truck arrives and after truck left gate.
- User definable alarm response text on screen - three different alarm responses depending on level of radiation detected
- Data storage - full raw data from all alarms stored in memory
- Vehicle log printout (all vehicles)
- Integrated data logging
- Multi-language capability
- Automatic built-in calibration for ISO standard routines
- Network ready, modem supported
- Reliable, automatic, 24 hr/7 day operation
Benefits
Using the AT-900 Series Radiation Portal Monitor System at a border crossing can help provide radiation detection of hidden sources and nuclear materials that could potentially become a threat to national security. Use in an industrial application can help a producer, or consumer, of scrap metal catch costly hidden radioactive sources before they enter or exit their facility.
