GR-660 Integrated Airborne / Carborne Radiation Detection Systems
Overview
The GR-660 Series of instruments are integrated gamma ray and neutron radiation monitoring systems for the measurement of both man-made and natural radiation. The systems are designed for easy installation in land vehicles, aircrafts or helicopters.
Applications
Government, nuclear facilities and first responder organizations around the world count on the GR-660 to monitor an area for nuclear materials and radioactive sources. See photo
- Post event - emergency response
Nuclear accident / contamination assessment - Military - force protection
Troop corridor clearing - Nuclear surveillance
Detection and location of illicit nuclear materials and radioactive sources - Port security
Marine container screening - Environmental monitoring
Baseline measurements
Features
- A real-time measuring and monitoring system with operator displays indicating the normal background as well as abnormal changes in natural or man-made radiation.
- A GPS based navigation system that provides the positional information for the radiation measurement.
- A data recording system, which records the spectral data along with the GPS navigation data.
- Easily transportable media for post mission analysis and mapping.
- The airborne system has the PI-660 Pilot Steering Indicator to assist the pilot to fly a predetermined grid. Included with this option is a survey planner program that is essential in the preparation of a survey.
- Multiple radiation alarms with user definable thresholds
Other key features include:
- Rapid determination & identification of radiation levels
- Neutron detection available
- Real time radiation and navigation displays
- Simple operation using the touch screen display
- GPS mapping capability
- Easy installation
- 10 definable ROI's or Windows
- Full spectral, ROI, dose rate and navigational recording
- Nuclide identification
- Re-play mode
- Spectrometers feature automatic spectrum stabilization
- Re-locatable touch screen color display for front seat operation
- Universal power operation - 8 to 35 VDC & 85 to 260 VAC
- Grid map display to create grid map of any ROI just after collection
- Multiple radiation alarms with indicators
Benefits
The GR-660 series of instruments are designed with a large number of detectors, thus offering a high sensitivity to radioactive sources and nuclear materials, while being used in mobile or airborne applications. See photo 1, See photo 2, See photo 3
