Pushbutton Adjustable Electronic Dosimeter PD-10i

Overview

The PD-10i™ is a self-reading electronic radiation dosimeter that offers personal dose and dose rate monitoring in a rugged, lightweight package. The model PD-10i has a water resistant housing, threaded battery well, and bright LED alarm lights.

Applications

The PD-10i is user programmable. The user may adjust alarm set-points and functional parameters via pushbutton entry to hidden menus. Numerous dosimeter functions can be enabled or disabled to suit personal needs. This feature eliminates the need for a computer/reader interface when versatility and low system cost are a primary concern.

The PD-10i holds the tradition of accuracy and reliability found in all SAIC's PD Family of Dosimetry Products. The PD-10i is a direct replacement of Pocket Ion Chamber (PIC) dosimeters, providing digital information for dose measurement, dose rate measurement, dose alarm, rate alarm, chirp and a back-light for use in subdued light conditions. In addition, the PD-10i offers stay-time alarm, pre-dose and stay-time warning alarms and dose history.

Enhanced performance and protection for all environmental conditions and accuracy/linearity are part of the built-in technology found in the PD-10i. External RF and EMI fields, which typically interfere with other dosimeters, don't affect the PD-10i due to the design of its energy-compensated, miniature Geiger detector. User activated options make the PD-10i the most versatile alarming dosimeter available.

Features

The PD-10i accurately records dose information from 0 mR to 999R and has a dose rate range of 0 mR to 500 R/h with no fold-over up to 1000 R/h. SAIC dosimeters operate from any AA format battery, any chemistry, including standard 1.5 volt alkaline batteries. The PD-10i will run for more than 2,000 hours on a single alkaline battery. The Liquid Crystal Display on the dosimeter steps through Total Dose, Dose Rate, Stay-Time, and Set-Point Confirmation displays. The PD-10i is operational as a stand alone dosimeter or it can be used with other SAIC Dosimetry Products. As a member of SAIC's PD Family of Dosimetry Products, the PD-10i is compatible with SAIC's PDR readers. Used in conjunction with the PDR-1 and PDMS software, the PD-10i can be rapidly set up, calibrated, read or issued to a worker.
