Dosimeter Reader PDR-1

Overview

Through application of technological innovations and advanced microelectronics, SAIC has designed and manufactured the PDR-1 Dosimeter Reader. This reader possess all the features necessary to implement a dose management system at a small fraction of the cost of more traditional readers.

Applications

The PDR-1 provides the basic interface between SAIC's PD Family of Dosimetry Products and a computer via a standard RS-232 connection. The PDR-1 Reader is required to perform calibrations and initial set-up of all pocket dosimeters. The PDR-1 can also be integrated into new or existing turnstiles for security access control systems. PDMS software interfaces with the PDR-1 reader for automatic set up and calibration of SAIC's electronic dosimeters.

Features

POWER and STATUS lights quickly inform the user of reader and dosimeter status. The manual DOSE RESET will reset a personal dosimeter in a few seconds. It can also be disabled through the computer for situations where dose reset must be controlled. The smooth face of the PDR minimizes areas for contamination to collect. The open interface allows workers to quickly place and retrieve their alarming dosimeters. Other features include:
