RTR-4® Large Area Imager
Overview
In April, 2004, SAIC introduced the Large Area X-Ray Imager option for RTR-4® systems. The LA Imager has an active imaging area four times (4x) greater than standard imagers, in a thin design, with excellent resolution, allowing quick inspection of large items in a single deployment. The LA Imager is an invaluable enhancement to the operating convenience of the industry standard RTR-4N Portable Digital X-Ray Inspection System.
Applications
- Investigation of suspicious containers
- Non-intrusive examination of larger items
- Evaluation of unexploded ordnance
Features
- Digital system produces high quality images with no loss of resolution, even with long cable or wireless connections
- Requires no special adapters or cables, utilizing interface components common to the standard RTR-4N system
- AC or DC Powered, operates for several hours from on-board battery
- Includes variable power-on delay settings
- Supplied with transport case
- Solid state imaging, 1.8 megapixels
Benefits
As the latest addition to the RTR-4 family of products, LA Imager benefits include:
- Airport Security and Crowd Safety:
The LA Imager assists law enforcement and security professionals with rapid identification and evaluation of the contents of suspicious packages, unattended baggage, and carried items. The LA Imager eliminates the need for the re-positioning of X-ray components to obtain a complete image of large items (such as roll-aboard luggage) and reduces operator time on target. - Portability and Rapid On-site Deployment:
The LA Imager is compatible with RTR-4N systems allowing setup by one person in less than five minutes. The X-ray source and LA Imager are set up around a fixed target. Images can be acquired remotely and viewed immediately. RTR-4 images are archived digitally and can be transmitted via modem or disk to other computers for off-site evaluation.
