SRM-910 Radiation Monitor
The SRM-910 radiation monitor quickly screens for lost and improperly discarded radioactive sources embedded in or shielded by scrap.
Overview
Designed specifically for industrial applications, SAIC's EXPLORANIUM® SRM-910 radiation monitor quickly screens for lost and improperly discarded radioactive sources embedded in or shielded by scrap.
Applications
The SRM-910 scans vehicles, railcars, charge buckets, and conveyor belts loaded with scrap for radioactive materials before they contaminate steel, scrap recycling, or other facilities. Combining outstanding performance with built-in, fully networked remote monitoring and control capabilities, the SRM-910 radiation monitor is an ideal solution for screening scrap.
Features
The SRM-910's state-of-the-art detectors, advanced signal analysis, and sophisticated software algorithms optimize detection probability. The system can generate audible alarms on an optional annunciator and can send alarm messages from up to 32 systems to a single supervisory computer over an existing local area network (LAN) connection. Additional alarm messages can even be sent to a cell phone, pager or e-mail account.
The SRM-910's state-of-the-art detectors and advanced electronics provide cutting-edge signal processing and enhance detection sensitivity without increasing false alarms. The system graphically displays the location of radioactive sources in scanned vehicles, making them easier to find.
The SRM-910 features built-in, preconfigured networking for centralized operation and monitoring. The system's supervisory computer lets operators control up to 32 other systems over an existing LAN connection. The supervisory computer also archives radiation profiles, analysis results and optional camera images from up to a million vehicles in a fully searchable database that allows operators to quickly access information of interest. Up to four monitoring computers can be added to further enhance monitoring capabilities. The SRM-910 even monitors its own health status on a daily basis.
Like previous EXPLORANIUM products, the SRM-910 offers simple one-button operation. The system's Windows® XP-based platform supports multiple languages and offers two levels of password protection. Authorized operators can easily change screen messages to suit local procedures.
