AntFarm™ Antenna Simulation Toolkit
Overview
The AntFarm™ toolkit integrates the proven modeling technologies of the Apatch™ software with mature 3D visualization capabilities into a single package. The AntFarm toolkit analyzes the radiation and electromagnetic interference (EMI) effects of single or multiple heterogeneous RF systems. Analysis can be restricted to isolated systems or conducted in situ on the multisystem platform. See photo
Applications
Modern ships, aircraft, satellites, and ground vehicles are equipped with multiple radio frequency (RF) systems and their associated antennas. This often eclectic combination of antennas across all systems on a platform is referred to as an "antenna farm." The result is a fertile environment for interference between systems and degraded antenna performance that is difficult to assess given the sheer 3D complexity of the antenna placements, their radiation patterns, and the platform itself.
Benefits
Key Benefits of the AntFarm Toolkit:
- An integrated 3D graphics front end for the configuration of one or many RF systems. In complex antenna farms, this configuration can serve as the basis of multiple analyses while helping the engineer manage the sheer complexity of placement and orientation of numerous antennas on a platform.
- Proven electromagnetic modeling technology for complex geometries and materials. The AntFarm toolkit generates predictions of radiation patterns and antenna-to-antenna coupling of installed systems (and isolated systems for comparison).
- Support for antenna arrays, including parametric descriptions of aperture tapers.
