Overview

Scale2Insight™, developed by SAIC, is a software platform enabling scientists and subject matter experts (SMEs) to turn big data from modern sensors into working intelligence for analysts. The platform provides the tools to continuously model the world from sensor data and use those models for real-time anomaly detection and prediction. By making it easy to utilize domain-specific analytics across massive data sets, the platform provides the means to get intelligence into the hands of analysts.

Scale2Insight enables analysts and SMEs to:

• Detect Anomalous Behavior - Data streaming into the platform can be analyzed, in real-time, against the many models built by the platform. These customizable analyses detect the anomalous data that does not fit the models. Rather than selecting specific filters to lessen the amount of data analysts are assessing, the platform establishes baseline models that can be used to pinpoint statistically irregular behaviors for further analysis.
• Predict Future Behaviors - By leveraging the past behavior of millions of entities, the platform can predict the future behavior of entities based on user-specified criteria. When a specific entity is analyzed, the platform can use its historical models to predict the likely next behavior(s) for that entity.
• Analyze Large-Scale Data - When handling the large amounts of data generated by modern sensors, analysts need tools to help them quickly identify the areas that require further investigation. Data-specific models can be built upon the platform to be used as benchmarks upon which newly arriving data can be compared. The platform can build models of millions of entities and classes of entities to enable analysts to study very active, dynamic systems.
