8. How does the GeoRover Digital Data Tracker extension work?
The GeoRover Digital Data Tracker field data tools enable users to gather and disseminate collected field data in a geospatial context. Specifically, multimedia data in the form of photos, voice recordings, video clips and typed or scanned field documents can be linked on digital maps for subsequent analysis. You just simply perform the following steps.
- Collect Information
You drive or walk with GPS receiver and field data device(s). If using different collection devices you don't even need to calibrate/synchronize the time settings (you simply just process the data separately). Information is collected at will - digital pictures, digital video clips, digital voice recordings, PDA text documents etc. There is no need to record or mark positions in the field. Remember, no connection required in the field between the collection devices and the GPS. The laptop or computer system is not required in the field during the collection! - Process and Analyze
Copy all field data (images, videos, audio, text documents etc.) to computer. Download the GPS information using the GeoRover software tools. GeoRover software compares field data to GPS information. Points are automatically plotted over maps or imagery to show your track and to indicate where data was captured. Clicking on the points will show or playback your data. - Create Product and Disseminate
Additional points and data can be easily added and linked any time if desired. You can easily create self-contained web page (HTML) files from the display. These files include hyperlinks to all the data and can be viewed by anyone with a web browser. Web pages can be posted to a web server, burned to a CD-ROM, or distributed via e-mail. All operational data can be "packaged" on to a CD and mailed to final destination.
9. Can I edit geodatabases with the GeoRover Locus Track Extension?
Yes. GeoRover software can edit personal, file, and enterprise geodatabases. The GeoRover Locus Track extension is compatible with ArcSDE® geodatabases - thus it fully scales for the enterprise. You can take advantage of the ESRI architecture while making it easy and intuitive using GeoRover software tools.
10. What training is available for GeoRover software products?
We work with each customer to ensure personnel are fully trained using GeoRover software. For users that have no experience with ArcGIS, we recommend 3 days to allow extensive hands-on experience with the system as part of the training. Users familiar with ArcGIS require somewhat less training.
11. Does the GeoRover Digital Data Tracker extension require a specific camera?
No. Nearly any digital camera will work with the GeoRover Digital Data Tracker extension.
12. Do GeoRover software products come with user manuals?
Yes. GeoRover software products come with in-depth, self-instruction manuals.
