Overview

KnowledgeBoard® Data Fusion Tool provides a web-based distributed information viewport. This tool facilitates the display and review of information from many heterogeneous data sources.

Applications

The KnowledgeBoard Data Fusion Tool provides the tools and a framework for the user to personalize their view of distributed multi-source data. The tool provides a framework that extends the core XML capabilities to include sources such as: video, web-based content, relational and object databases, flat files, etc. Versions of this tool have been used in multiple agencies in the Department of Defense and the National Cancer Institute. The KnowledgeBoard Data Fusion Tool was used in a variety of different Department of Defense programs, including Adaptive Courses of Action (ACOA) and Enhanced Consequence Planning and Support System (ENCOMPASS). The highly extensible framework of the tool provides the basis for commercial applications including: corporate portals, Internet portals, securities trading, network security and more.

Cell Designer
Cell Designer (Figure 2)allows users to create their own views of data and information. Cell "wizards" guide the user through the process of creating one or more cells of information.

Website Display
Website Display (Figure 3) allows users to display web pages on the "board." An automatic refresh time can also be set on the browser to keep the page up-to-date. Figure 3 shows four websites displayed.

Viewing Cell Displays (Figure 4) allows users to monitor multiple events, domains, and divisions simultaneously by switching between views comprised of selected cells showing information.
