SCOPTIMA® Supply Chain Software
Modules
Inventory Management
SCOPTIMA® supply chain software tracks actual spare parts inventory in bins on a continual basis. It can adjust as parts are used and replenished. It maintains a detailed and up-to-date order history for all replenishment orders placed for each location or part. Users can query detailed information about a particular part to include manufacturer part number, vendor information, bin locations, warehouse locations, authorized quantities, vendor sources, commercial delivery schedules, shelf life status, lead times, unit cost, unit price and on-hand balances. Since parts and part numbers are continuously being modified and re-categorized by both the vendors and customers, SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software tracks these changes to ensure that the customer gets what he needs and the vendor is credited for delivery of the correct item.
Order Management
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software provides a complete range of order management functionality to meet customer and FAR requirements. It processes replenishment requests for inventory held in bar-coded bins. Re-order points are pre-established based on the customer's business rules, and bins are regularly scanned by an inventory specialist. Orders are electronically sent to commercial vendors and electronically acknowledged, with shipping status automatically recorded by the software and incorporated into the order history.
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software automates parts receiving using bar-code labels affixed to each item received. The type and quantity of parts received are compared to the original purchase order and shipping document to confirm the order is correct. It facilitates the transfer of parts already received from one customer location to another to allow effective response to stock outs without the need to order new parts.
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software can automatically cancel orders in the event a previous order is no longer needed, and it provides the ability for any receipt to be credited in the event of quantity or parts quality error. Finally, SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software provides the ability to over-ride the routine order process and generate single priority orders that are either out of the order cycle or placed to an alternate vendor in the event the primary vendor is unable to provide the part in a timely fashion.
Requirements Analysis
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software provides a full range of tools designed to assist the user in analyzing demand patterns and lead times for optimizing part reorder points and quantities. It captures average monthly usage, average pipeline times, average time between orders, demand variations. This provides a quick way to view statistical history on parts receipts to determine if changes in the order quantity, pipeline time or receipt process need be considered.
Financial Accounting
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software records financial information for parts receipts and orders. This supports accounts payable functionality to pay vendors and accounts receivable functionality to invoice customers.
Spot Buy Management
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software provides the ability to initiate and track spot buy requests and purchases (unique requirements for parts not managed within the system) from initial customer request, through pricing/availability, to parts delivery and invoicing. The user has the flexibility to modify specific spot buy requests to meet evolving end-users needs.
Warehouse Management
SCOPTIMA Supply Chain Software can manage SAIC-owned or forward-located-vendor-owned stock in warehouses. It has full transaction support to receive, bin and issue these items and maintain the inventory for effective warehouse and financial management.
