Crane View Crane-Mounted OCR System
Overview
SAIC's Crane View Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system streamlines the discharge and loading processes by automatically reading and recording the ID numbers of containers as they are moved by quay cranesin real time. Crane View can also record actual stow positions as containers are discharged or loaded. Combining performance and reliability, Crane View enhances efficiency and safety on the quay.
Capabilities
Crane View applies SAIC's advanced digital video and optical character recognition (OCR) technologies to provide these capabilities:
- Reads container numbers as containers are loaded or discharged.
- Provides high-resolution images of containers.
- Optional stow plan feature calculates and records actual stow positions during discharge and loading.
- Delivers data and images to the terminal operation system (TOS).
- Lets an operator monitor the container queues for multiple cranes, view container images, and verify OCR results and stow positions.
- Provides accuracy and reliable operation in virtually any weather.
- Offers rapid deployment and 24/7 technical support.
Benefits
Crane View offers these valuable benefits:
- Increases efficiency by automatically recording container numbers and stow positions.
- Improves information availability by providing data to the TOS in real time.
- Enables precise container moves.
- Enhances employee safety by keeping personnel out of traffic areas
Equipment
